Map from book#4 Defender

Here's the map for book #4 Defender. I'm adding it here so that people who can't zoom in on it with whatever device they read it on can do so from here instead. Just click on it to get the larger image.

The book itself should get uploaded to Amazon either tomorrow (7-29-20) or the day after. I've got 4 more chapters to proof and then convert the manuscript to the proper file format and upload.

ETA- since it doesn't zoom quite as much as I'd like, here's a close-up of the Crossroads area. Use the key from the larger map in conjunction with the numbers on this one.

  2. The Map looks pretty good. What program do you use for it? (I've tried a couple different programs when making modules for different RPG's that me and friends played in house.).

Also really excited for the book, really happy with how close the release is.

    1. I used Campaign Cartographer 3. It is (or was a week or two ago when I bought it) on sale for like $25 which is a hefty discount from it's original price. I picked that one because it reminded me of the one I used to use when I was DMing a run that lasted 7 yrs. That one was whatever came packaged with the AD&D Core Rules program, but it might have been the original campaign cartographer? Not sure, but because this one reminded me of it, it was easier to learn the basics more quickly for me.

    2. Very nice, thanks for the info I'm looking at it now and they still got it listed at 22.50$ which is really impressive with what it looks like it can do.

I never DM since I end up being to nice to the players LOL.... But I will set the worlds up, since the way my brain works makes it really easy for me to design anything from cities, to companies, to entire worlds and galaxies. Ended up creating a method a couple decades ago that helped me keep it all organized.

  3. You might want to take a look at Autorealm, it's free and I've always found it great for everything from world maps to building floorplans.

  4. It definitely helps with the imagination as while i am reading i end up with vague directionals rather than full picture unlike your fight scenes.

  5. Thanks for the great map! You did a great job explaining it in book 3 so it looks a lot like what I pictured! I only had Eddie's farm and Rat Lake wrong in my head from the start, which was giving me problems as I read. I pictured it a little like one of my favorite areas, the Easter Sierra portion of California, Owen's Valley up on through to the Long Valley Caldera into Lee Vining. Gorgeous country!
